Essential Oils - My Favorite Top 6

ESSENTIAL OILS - 

Essential oils are a great tool to use on any occasion. They are used for aromatherapy, which is “a form of alternative medicine that employs plant extracts to support health and well-being”. There’s more than 90 different types of oils, and each one can help with different things. You can either add the oils to a diffuser to leave your space smelling amazing, or apply it right to your skin! I like to add essential oils on my wrists or behind my ears like you would do with perfume/cologne. I use the lavender oil every day to help with my anxiety and stress. All you need are a few drops to notice the effects!

 

Here are some of my favorites: 

  •  Lavender: used for stress, anxiety, insomnia, can help with nausea and headaches as well (I also learned you can apply it to your wrists daily for protection) 
  • Peppermint: used for relieving headaches, increasing energy, improving alertness, and applied topically - can help with sunburn or muscle pain
  • Tea tree: used for getting rid of congestion or stuffy nose, and reduces inflammation 
  • Sandalwood: also helps reduce stress/anxiety, promotes peace and relaxation, can improve mental clarity
  • Lemon: decreases depression, reduces inflammation, and improves mood
  • Ylang ylang: helps with headaches, nausea, and can reduce pain

 

There are so many other amazing scents you can try! I like to buy mine off Amazon because they’re usually more affordable and there are more options. Here are some examples of oils and diffusers on Amazon to check out!
