My Favorite Iced Matcha Recipe

Lately, I’ve become a huge fan of matcha. Matcha is basically powdered green tea, and has many health benefits. Some benefits include being “rich in antioxidants called polyphenols, which have been tied to protection against heart disease and cancer, as well as better blood sugar regulation, blood pressure reduction, and anti-aging”. I've always been a huge coffee drinker since high school, but hate the jitters and crash it gives me. Luckily, matcha also has caffeine, but leaves out the unwanted effects of coffee. This is because it contains a natural substance called l-theanine which causes “relaxation without drowsiness”.

Here’s my favorite matcha recipe. I like to drink it iced, but it tastes just as good hot!

  • Matcha powder (I usually buy it from Trader Joe’s for about $4)
  • About 1 tbsp blue agave syrup - I like it on the sweeter side! You can also use honey/another sweetener
  • Two scoops of collagen - this is great for your skin/has protein ($10 at Trader Joe’s)
  • ¼ cup oat milk (or another milk you prefer)

Just add ice & enjoy!
